Volunteering for a charity is a great way of supporting your community whilst, at the same time, helping to raise or save funds. It can be in many forms such as:

here there is a wide variety of roles including:

  • Helping at individual events eg bag packing at a supermarket or staffing a stall at a fete or other event
  • Being an Ambassador which includes representing the charity at promotional events, attending cheque presentations.
  • Organising  events.

General Administration

  • Helping in the office with a variety of tasks including reception support


Many see volunteering as only benefitting the charity but this could not be further from the truth. The general good feeling generated in an individual when helping a charity is recognised as being ‘good for your health’. It is also a welcome inclusion on most CV’s showing a prospective employer that you are willing to go that extra mile.
